Speed test – how long does it really take to fill out the application when you have all the documents ready?
Many travelers wonder how much time they need to set aside for completing a UK ETA application. To answer this, we ran a simple speed test: how long does it actually take to fill out the form when all documents are ready?
1. Step -> Filling in personal details
The application starts with a short form where you enter your:
- Full name
- Email address
- Country of nationality
- Phone number
- Occupation and job status
- Home address
Typing these details carefully took less than 3 minutes in our test. Most of the fields are straightforward, some in the form of buttons. Overall the form guides you through them clearly.
2. Step -> Uploading your documents
The second part of the application requires two uploads:
- A photo of your passport (bio page)
- A recent photo of yourself
If you already have the files saved on your computer or phone, uploading takes just a minute. The system checks the image quality and lets you replace it if necessary.
The total time
In our test, the entire ETA application was completed in under 4 minutes. The process is fast, simple, and user-friendly, provided you have your documents ready in advance.
